Feb 20, 2015 - Sieg Industries changed the tachometer protocol of their mini mills and lathes. The SX2/CN2 tachometer kit firmware has been updated to account for this now.

Aug 8, 2014 - The lasershark_hostapp repo has been updated to include a new lasershark_stdin application. Text commands can be piped to this application in order to very easily control a connected LaserShark Board.

Aug 7, 2014 - A new version of the LaserShark firmware is out (V2.3 aka V5). This version corrects some issues identified with the previous version's clear command and adds a new command to query the samples that can be sent per bulk transfer.

Mar 20, 2014 - A new version of the LaserShark firmware is out (V2.2 aka V3). This version improves support for bulk (vs iso transfers) and adds a new command to clear the ringbuffer internal to the LaserShark... This should be very helpful for 3D Printer folks.

Jan 8, 2014 - I built a completely open source dual stepper motor driver that I call the TwoStep. This board is intended to be paired with a LaserShark for 3d printer, and other applications. Check it out in the Electronics section!

Jan 1, 2014 - A new version of the LaserShark firmware is out (V2.1 aka V3). This version allows the Lasershark units to act as a UART bridge for other peripherals.

March 5, 2011 - I added a section in misc area describing how to add a reverse switch to a SX2 mini mill. I also shared some info on how I reverse-engineered the tachometer port to make a cheap tachometer port display.

September 14, 2009 - I got my hands on a copy of 10.6 Friday and updated the Wireless Grapher widget to work under it. I'm glad I didn't have to spend another 130$ for it. Hey Apple, can the rest of your OS update just be 30$ from now on? :)

September 7, 2009 - I have received multiple emails letting me know that the Wireless Grapher widget no longer works under 10.6. Once my next paycheck comes in I'll pick up a copy and see what's going on.

March 24, 2009 - I added a tutorial that says how to make a G1 2.8v level serial to USB cable for kernel debugging in the misc section. You can easily use the information to make a rs232 or other serial adapter. Check it out in the misc section!

February 15, 2009 - I built a video streaming robot based off of the Surveyor Corporation's SRV1 robot controller which is controlled using an Android G1. Check it out in the misc section!

December 5, 2007 - Wireless Grapher Widget 0.5 has been released. It took me a while to fix this because I could not afford Leopard. In the end I was able to fix it by using a machine with 10.5 installed at a local university.

September 20, 2007 - Added a tutorial on how to replace the bearings on a Balfa BB7 Mountain bike in the Misc section.

October 23, 2006 - The Wireless Grapher Widget should no longer cause connectivity issues. The problem seems to be related to calls to the WirelessScan() and WirelessScanSplit() methods. When these methods are called under 10.4.8, the airport extreme card in intel macs seems to be unable to juggle maintaining the current connection and identifying other networks in the area and consequently severely slows down network connections or even disconnects! It wasn't like this in 10.4.7.. I wonder what Apple changed...

October 6, 2006 - Two users have reported connectivity issues with their Macbook Pro's running 10.4.8 and the Wireless Grapher widget. If you have encountered such problems remove the Wireless Grapher widget from your dashboard and then reboot your computer. If this happens to fix your issues, please email me so that I may work with you to provide a fix.
