Hello Jeff, I am ready to make the first test of 3d printing with your lasershark, I had already ordered a few months ago, a 100mW laser from 405-410 nm 3.0-5.0V www.odicforce.com, unfortunately project  a line instead of a point, my fault, I had not read well. I would ask that the power of laser advise me to buy and where to buy, I would also like to explain to me where to connect the laser to the lasershark and where to connect the external 5 volt power supply.

Hi Cosimo,

I've been busy with software so I haven't had time to make my 3d printer hardware such. Because of this I cannot say with certainty what laser you should get. My suggestion would be to follow what the opensl folks are using:

The lasershark does not power lasers, it only controls their modulation.

You will need a 12v DC power supply for this laser from ebay. A switching power supply should be fine.
